The charging and emptying system handles tiles and firing boxes. The transporter for the tiles is a belt (30) indexed to match the layout of the stacked firing boxes. The system has two transporters for the tiles. One transporter brings up nonglazed, nonfired tiles for boxing. The second transporter transfers fired tiles to a sorting and inspection stand. The tiles are handled by swivelling secondary cassettes which load the tiles from the collector to the firing boxes.
