The tuning device is for use in a radio receiver and uses a variable capacitance which is controlled by electronic systems producing a control voltage. The device operates using a manually operated potentiometer delivering the control voltage to the tuning capacitance. The pointer for the visible tuning scale is operated by the potentiometer through a cable. The potentiometer (1) has a linear characteristic and the driving disc (3) for the scale cable (4) is as spiral with a non-linear transmission characteristic. It is designed so that tuning frequencies are linearly distributed on the scale.
