Stable,insoluble enzyme prepns - with enzyme linked to glass carrier by organosilane

Stabilised, water-insoluble enzyme prepn. comprises an enzyme bound to an inorganic glass substrate having free hydroxyl or oxide groups by means of a silane coupling agent the Si part of which is bound to the substrate and the organic part of which is bound to the enzyme, the coupling agent being applied to the glass substrate from a soln. with a higher-boiling aromatic or aliphatic solvent. Suitable coupling agents are silanes having an aminoalkyl group, e.g. (3-aminopropyl)-triethoxy-silane. The enzyme prepns. have improved stability and high enzymatic activity.
