PURPOSE:To minimize the stain of the transparent plate of an original placing table and to make cooling effects uniform by blowing air from a fan to a frame body in the frame body in the vicinity of the fan at an almost right angle, leading the wind whose direction is changed therein to the inside and cooling the inside of the frame body. CONSTITUTION:A cross flow fan 8 disposed on the left side of the frame body 1 of an image reader equipped with an optical unit 7, and an original platen glass 2, etc., blows the wind sucked from outside to the upper wall of the frame body 1 at an almost right angle. After the wind hits the frame body 1, it flows into the frame body in the direction of the arrow A. At this time, much of dust included in the wind are stuck to an adhesive sheet 10 when it hits the frame body 1; therefore the stain of the original placing table glass 2 becomes less. Moreover, the wind hitting the frame body 1 at an almost right angle spreads and flows in the frame body 1 in the direction of the arrow C since the wall exists on the left side. Consequently, the wind cools effectively the original platen glass 2 and the optical unit 7 in the vicinity of the glass. |
