PRODUCTION OF PLASTIC OPTICAL FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a producing method of a refractive index distribution type plastic optical fiber capable of being used for optical information communication medium. CONSTITUTION: A multilayered strand fiber is obtained by supplying n spinning stock solution which consist of 60-30wt.% high polymer A, 10-69wt.% polymerizing monomer B alone or the mixture and 1-40wt.% non-polymerizing compound C having molecular weight of 100-1000 and in which each of A and C to be used is the common kind and each of the monomer B to be used is different at least in either of kind or composition ratio, to a concentric multilayer conjugate spinning nozzle so that the refractive index is gradually lowered from the center toward the outer periphery and spinning the spinning stock solutions having the viscosity controlled to 10<3> -10<8> poise and the monomer B in the obtained multilayered strand fiber is hardened while or after diffusing mutually between the adjacent layers of the fiber.
