PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of preventing the breakage of a strobe and preventing light from being erroneously emitted, with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A strobe capacitor 14 charging operation is started by a strobe charging circuit 13 when a charging signal outputted by a CPU is supplied, and a switch 11 is turned on in a state where the strobe is pulled out of a storage part. Besides, only in a period when the switch 11 is made in an ON state, an active signal is supplied to a gate 12. And, a charging signal to be supplied to the strobe charging circuit 13 is supplied from the CPU to the gate 12, and the charging signal supplied from the CPU is transmitted to the strobe charging circuit 13 only when the switch 11 is made in an ON state and the active signal is supplied.
