<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen charging method and a hydrogen charging device to a pressure hydrogen tank in which hydrogen storage pressure can be lower, in which installation space can be smaller, and in which energy loss can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: This hydrogen charging device 1 for charging hydrogen to the pressure hydrogen tank 50 is provided with hydrogen supply tanks 5 and 6 to store hydrogen under pressure, a storage part 11 provided with hydrogen storage alloy, gas flow passages 27-30 for connecting the hydrogen supply tanks 5 and 6 to the pressure hydrogen tank 50, and the storage part 11 to the pressure hydrogen tank 50, and a heater part 12 connected to the hydrogen supply tanks 5 and 6 through gas flow passages 23, 24, and 26, and having hydrogen storage alloy for heating by storing hydrogen.
