PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a map display method which gives a high visual recognizability and effectively utilizes a display picture area. SOLUTION: A coordinate transformation means 101 calculates a coordinate transformation formula to display map data 2 for display on a map display means 1 based on a gaze point position inputted by a gaze point input means 3, a view point position inputted by a view point input means 4, the direction of a disappearance point inputted by a disappearance point direction input means 5, and a display scale. A map data read means 7 reads out map data 2 for display, and the coordinate transformation means 101 performs coordinate transformation, and the result is sent to the map display means 1 and is displayed. Since the direction of the disappearance point in the display picture can be determined independently of the gaze point position and the view point position, a map of a higher visual recognizability is displayed. |
