A toy vehicle launching assembly including a launching station having a plunger-like launcher member for striking and launching a vehicle positioned at said station, a simulated gear shift lever connected with said plunger for cocking and releasing the same, said shift lever also being associated with sound mechanism for producing sound during movement of said shift lever through simulated shifting positions.
