<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition excellent in mechanical strength, flexibility, and abrasion resistance, and to provide an electric wire or a cable coated with the resin composition. <P>SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a mixture comprising 99-50 wt.% of a polyolefin (A) and 1-50 wt.% of a modified ethylene copolymer (B), and 1-500 pts.wt. of an inorganic filler (C). The modified ethylene copolymer (B) is obtained by modifying a specific ethylene copolymer, specifically by reacting 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene copolymer (a), 0.01-20 pts.wt. of at least one compound (b) having at least one unsaturated group (i) and at least one polar group (ii), and 0.001-20 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide (c).
