The halves of the main frame are joined by a simple coupling comprising doublee jaws (25) at the bottom of one half which locate over flats (21) each side of the crankshaft housing and which are secured by a twist action. This brings a half shell structure (15) to lie against the saddle support frame (3) where the two sections are joined by locating pegs (16) and simple fasteners. The completed frame is simply secured by a sliding clamp sleeve, or other mechanism internal to the frame. In the folded state curved segments (18,19) around the crankshaft axis lie alongside each other and are coupled together by a sliding sleeve.
