PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system in which a possibility for document contents to be illegally utilized by erroneous document transmission by referring to attribute information of a received document and storing the relevant document only when the attribute information meets predetermined conditions. SOLUTION: A receiving-side facsimile machine 50B acquires area information 40 from attribute information of a received document. The receiving-side facsimile machine 50B stores area information 40 corresponding to a facility wherein the receiving-side facsimile machine 50B is installed and determines whether to store the document by comparing a security level value of the relevant stored area information 40 with a security level value of the area information 40 in the document attribute information.
