The ring and sector vectors of reference fingerprints around core and delta points are Fourier transformed and degree of similarity of the reference fingerprints are identified and stored in a database (3). The line end and branches of the fingerprints read by an optical sensor (1) are compared with the one and two stages of Fourier transformed reference fingerprints which has highest similarity. An Independent claim is also included for fingerprint identification device.
