PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubrication system of a vertical shaft pump capable of continuing the utilization even when pumped water contains fine debris while protecting bearings, in a vertical shaft pump having bearings protected using part of the pumped water.SOLUTION: A lubrication system comprises: a lubrication water supply line configured to be able to supply part of pumped water of a vertical shaft pump to bearings that are rotatably supporting a main shaft as lubrication water; a first tank storing fresh water independently of the pumped water; a fresh water supply line that connects the first tank to the lubrication water supply line; a fresh water supply pump provided along the fresh water supply line; and a first valve provided on the upstream side of the confluence of the lubrication water supply line with the fresh water supply line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
