PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose and remove harmful substances with less energy by making the distance between a contact surface with liquid of an ultrasonic vibration board and a contact surface of thin plate with liquid satisfy a specific equation consisting of output per unit area and frequency, etc. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic treating device B is constituted of a treating tank 110 where the ultrasonic vibration board 112 with an ultrasonic vibrator 103 adhered and a thin plate 111 are oppositely arranged in parallel, and a high frequency power source 140 for impressing alternate voltage on the ultrasonic vibrator 103 based on signals of a water flow sensor 141. PZT is used as the vibrator 103, and when the efficiency of removal of the harmful matters is measured, in a high range, the efficiency satisfys the equation; L=a×W/f (wherein, the unit of the distance L between the contact surface with liquid of the ultrasonic vibration board and the contact surface with liquid of the thin plate is cm, the unit of ultrasonic output W per unit area is w/cm2, the unit of the frequency (f) is Hz, and a coefficient (a) is more than 5×104). Hence, the highly harmful substances can be efficiently decomposed and removed with less energy.
