PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bait which has the same fish collecting properties and ingestion properties for fish as a living bait for fishing such as eunice/lugworm, earthworm, and larva, which can be preserved at ordinary temperature, and which has flexibility although it is a drought bait to be capable of being usable immediately.SOLUTION: A drought bait made by drying a living bait for fishing contains: a main body in which 50 mass% or more of salt is scattered or coated over the living bait for fishing to dry it; softening and protective agent which is coated and/or deposited on the main body; and a surplus water adsorption agent which is deposited on the external surface of the main body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
