Seed coating - for protecting seeds against unfavourable germinating conditions

Plant seeds are coated with a material which retards germination until conditions are right for their proper development. The coating has water vapour transmission of 0.03-5g and oxygen transmission of >=0.05cc in 24 hrs. through 645 cm2 of film 25.4mu thick. The coating may be a copolymer contg. >=50% vinylidene chloride and >=1 other ethylenically unsatd. co-monomer.
