MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium with superior electric characteristics by allowing an amine compound to coexist with metallic magnetic powder and a binder resin in a magnetic layer to improve the dispersibility and orientability of the magnetic powder and the surface smoothness of the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A primary amine compound such as heptylamine or a secondary amine compound such as diheptylamine is allowed to coexist with metallic magnetic powder such as alpha-Fe powder and a binder resin such as a vinyl chloride- vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol terpolymer in a magnetic layer. Thus, a magnetic recording medium such as a magnetic tape is obtd. The metallic magnetic powder has satisfactory dispersibility and orientability, and the surface smoothness of the magnetic layer is improved.
