PURPOSE:To provide the cushion material of an integral structure type which can save a stage for winding helical wires, etc., does not generate the squeaking sounds of springs, is simple in construction, has good air permeability, can maintain the perfect independence of the respective coil springs and enables the reutilization of used fibers and the process for production thereof. CONSTITUTION:This process for production consists in erecting and arranging the many coil springs 2 to projecting parts 3 for supporting the coil springs of a supporting plate 1 disposed within a lower mold 15 for molding in such a manner as to space the springs vertically and horizontally from each other. The vegetable fibers (more particularly, palm fibers) and/or animal fibers 5 coated with an adhesive are thereafter packed into the lower mold for molding or the adhesive is applied on the vegetable fibers, etc., after packing the fibers and thereafter, the upper mold is closed and the molds are heated to integrally adhere the respective fibers to each other. The use of a hardness regulating material is possible as well. The compounding of functional fibers, such as antimicrobial fibers, high water-absorptive fibers, etc., with the vegetable fibers, etc., is also possible. |
