PURPOSE:To obtain an insulated cable of highly-expanded polyethylene having fine diameter, excellent in heat resistance, mechanical strength and electric characteristics and useful as a cable, etc., for high frequency transmission by subjecting a specific expandable resin composition to extrusion coating on a conductor. CONSTITUTION:This cable is obtained by subjecting an expandable composition having <=5% preliminary extent of foaming to extrusion coating on a conductor at 130-160 deg.C. This expandable composition is obtained by adding (D) 0.5-5 pts.wt. chemical foaming agent decomposable at low temperature of 130-160 deg.C (preferably p,p'-oxy-bis-benzenesulfonylhydrazide) to 100 pts.wt. kneaded material obtained by kneading a resin composition consisting of (A) 100 pts.wt. low density polyethylene having 0.89-0.925g/ml density, (B) 1-110 pts.wt. high density polyethylene having >=130 deg.C melting point by DSC measurement and (C) 0.3-5 pts.wt. low molecular weight polyolefin wax having 1500-8000 average molecular weight and >=100 deg.C and >160 deg.C melting point by DSC measurement and kneading the material with the component D at <=120 deg.C and <130 deg.C. |
