PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for image reading which can read an image by detecting an accurate focused position without being affected by noise, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: Focusing is adjusted according to maximum values XB-MAX and XG-MAX which exceed a threshold S among maximum values of focus evaluation quantities (quantities corresponding to the contrast of a subject) calculated from image data of respective colors read in by a line sensor. |
