<p>A color ink jet recording method wherein a color image of higher quality, as well as a printing quality in black ink that is substantially equal to that of a conventional monochromatic printing can be obtained. This method includes the use of a plurality of color inks having surface tensions of below 40 dyn/cm at 20 °C and a black ink having a surface tension of 40 dyn/cm or more at 20 °C for forming a color image on a recording medium, and comprises the steps of first performing printing in at least one of the color inks in that area of a zone to be printed in black on the recording medium that borders on a color zone and performing printing in the black ink in the zone that should be printed in black and which has partially been printed in the color ink at the previous step.</p> |
