PURPOSE:To ignore the effect of wind pressure thus to achieve comfortable drive by controlling the power assist with correspondence to the wind pressure to be applied against a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Upon rotation of steering wheel 10 more than predetermined angle under traveling, a wind speed detector 21 in an assisting force generator 20 will detect the wind pressure against the vehicle and the direction to provide a wind speed condition signal to a controller 23. The controller 23 will provide a control signal for commanding the output ratio for producing the assisting force with correspondence to the wind speed condition signal to a drive unit 25 which will provide the assisting force for the output ratio of engine to driving force transmitting means 30 with correspondence to said control signal. Said means 30 will provide the combined force of said assisting force and the rotary force fed from a steering wheel 10 to a knuckle arm 40. The knuckle arm 40 will steer the front wheel trough said combined force.
