Bilateral amplifier for twin antenna system - connects two portions of cable line and uses decoupled terminals

The bilateral amplifier includes two cable sections (K) coupled together via a directional coupling unit (RK) at decoupled terminals (1,4) in such a manner that the energy flow in the signal supplying section and in the signal receiving cable section (K) is increased by the amplifier (V). A condition for the successful realisation of this arrangement is that the decoupling factor provided by the directional coupling unit (RK) should be larger than the amplification factor of the amplifier (V). Apart from the bidirectional signal amplification in connected cable sections, the arrangement is applicable also to two radiating antennas (A) either of which may be a primary HF source.
