PURPOSE:To attach a hose protector excellent in abrasion resistance and durability to a rubber hose, by heating a nonwoven fabric or woven fabric wherein the spaces present in the celluloselike members is filled with a thermoplastic resin powder so that the fabric may be thermally fused to a rubber hose. CONSTITUTION:After a celluloselike body 3 comprising a non-woven fabric of synthetic fibre or a blanketlike woven fabric of wool or the like is filled with a thermoplastic resin fine powder 4, the fabric is heated so that the fine powder 4 may be fused and secured in the celluloselike body 3 and at the same time the opposite surfaces of the celluloselike body 3 are formed with thermoplastic resin skin 3a, 3b. Then the fabric is mounted in position to a rubber hose 1, and is subjected to high-frequency welding or ultrasonic welding so that the ends 5 of the celluloselike body 3 may be thermally fused and united and the rubber hose and part 5 of the skin may be thermally fused and united. Since it is only required to attach the fabric to the hose and to carry out heat welding, the mounting is very easy. The method is very suitably applied for a hose protector in an engine room of an automobile. |
