PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a novel decorative board for furniture which has a highly presentable appearance and a hard surface although a fiberboard is used as a core, at a low manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: An overlay fiberboard obtained by overlaying 14 a low pressured process melamine on the surface of a medium duty fiberboard 13 is used as a base material 12, on the surface of an overlay 14 of which a synthetic resin enamel coating film 16 is formed. Further, a transparent topcoat 17 is formed on the coating film 16 using an ultraviolet-curable coating. Consequently, this decorative board 11 for furniture has the hardness of the melamine resin overlay 14 and the top coat 17 and the lustrous presentable appearance of the synthetic resin enamel coating. Besides, the decorative board 11 itself uses as the base material 12 a melamine resin overlay fiberboard to be used for general purposes as a decorative board. Therefore, an enamel coating which is a regular coating normally has only to be applied once, which means the saving of a manufacturing cost to a significant extent, compared to the conventional manufacturing process, when a coating material cost and coating manhours are considered.
