PURPOSE:To detect the breakage of a tool during tool charge and to eliminate a loss time only by linearly moving ahead a detection head to a detection site by use of a rising motion of a socket which is a necessary motion of a tool-storage magazine. CONSTITUTION:If a tool 7d with a minimum rank of length is restored in a horizontally lied socket so as to start rising motion, a cylinder 18 for moving a detection head back and forth is actuated at the same time according to instructions for detecting the breakage of the tool 7d. A detection head 16 which moves ahead by receiving the instructions stops by the motion of a dog 23d for tool 7d detection side use that beats a limit switch 22d for tool 7d detection site confirmation use. At the stop position, an operator of a limit switch 24d for tool 7d detection use positions on a locus of the normal length head of the tool 7d at rising. If the tool is broken, the operator does not come into contact with the tool head, and generating an NG signal. |
