PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system and a display method capable of enhancing degree of intervention of a user when an image related to an information code is displayed.SOLUTION: With a portable terminal, display control is performed that changes the display state of at least part of a basic pattern included in a code graphic when external operation is detected under a state where either of code graphics is displayed in a display section, the graphic of an information code or a graphic in which a plurality of kinds of the basic pattern are arranged in a form imitating the information code. Display control is performed such that a graphic different from the code graphic prior to change is made to be displayed after the display state of the code graphic has changed by the display control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
