PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nip part formation member which realizes in a fixation device 10 all of reduction in rise time of a heating member 3, suppression of the generation of an excessive temperature rise at a non-recording material passing part (non-paper passing part), and stability of conveyance of recording materials over a long period of time.SOLUTION: A nip part formation member 4 includes a substrate 4a and an elastic layer 4b which is formed on the substrate 4a, and forms, by pressure-contacting with a heating member 3 to elastically deform, a nip part N for sandwiching and conveying a sheet-like recording material P carrying a toner image T thereon while heating the recording material. The elastic layer 4b includes a porous elastic layer having at least a heat conductive filler 4b1 and a void 4b2, and has a B/A of 0.4 or more and 0.8 or less when the thickness at a position 4A corresponding to a longitudinal center part at the nip part N of the porous elastic layer 4b is A mm and the thickness at a position 4B corresponding to a longitudinal end part is B mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
