1. An electrochemical energy storage device comprising:
an electrically conductive housing having opposed first and second ends; a cover coupled to one of the opposed first and second ends; at least one energy storage element in the electrically conductive housing; and at least one flexible current collector comprising a planar body and a connector element extending out of plane from said planar body, the planar body establishing electrical contact with the at least one energy storage element and the connector element establishing electrical contact with one of the electrically conductive housing and the cover.
