An insulated wire (1) has a conductor (2) and an insulator (3) that is clad onto the outer periphery of the conductor (2). The insulated wire (1) has a sea-island structure (30) in which the insulator (3), when viewed in a cross-section of the wire, is provided with sea portions (31) having a polysulfone resin as the main component, and island portions (32) dispersed in the sea portions (31), the island portions (32) having a polyester elastomer as the main component. The island portions (32) preferably measure 10 μm or less in domain size.
