PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-reliability and low-cost oil leak detecting apparatus which can effectively detect oil leaks from equipment, such as a pump, without being affected by rainwater or the like. SOLUTION: The oil leak detection apparatus 1 comprises an oil guide piping 106 for guiding oil which leaks from the equipment 100 to an oil reservoir; and an oil sensor 10 which is attached to the piping 106 and has a detecting section 12, capable of detecting the oil flowing in the piping 106. A plug member 15, which does not dissolve in water but dissolves in the oil, is installed at an aperture section 14a for the oil flow from the piping 106 to the oil sensor 10.
