PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that satisfactorily offsets a thermal expansion difference between a housing and a support member supporting a temperature detector. SOLUTION: The fixing device 18 includes: a heat member for heating a recording sheet; the temperature detector (temperature detecting element TH), disposed opposite the heating member with a space therebetween, for detecting the temperature of the heating member; the long support member (support plate 100) supporting the temperature detector; and a fixing frame 181 supporting the support member. Only one end of the fixing member is fixed to the fixing frame 181, and the other end thereof is pressed against the fixing frame 181 with force applied by the elastic deformation of the support member itself.
