A carriage 12 with an end abutment 21 moveable relative another end abutment 14 and with a window (26, fig 4) arranged to move relative to a scale 17, wherein a camera 23 may be directed at the window and a foot size measurement may be made from the image of the camera 23. Also disclosed is a method comprising moving the carriage 12 and calculating a foot measurement from an image of the carriage 12 taken by the camera 23. Alternatively a footgauge 11 comprises a first end abutment 14, a carriage 12 with a second end abutment 21 moveable relative the first abutment 14, the carriage 12 having a support portion 22 receiving and directing a camera 23 towards a fixed scale 17. The camera may be in a touch screen device TCD or a mobile phone. The footgauge may be foldable and in a shoebox (fig 6-8). |
