<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator for a rotary electric machine that has excellent insulating properties. <P>SOLUTION: Coil bars 25, coated with respective insulating materials 28, are arranged inside respective slots 23 of a stator core 21. Connect coils 40 are arranged in outer surface grooves 37, and inner surface grooves 38, that are formed in base plates 31L and 31R. The connect coils 40 of identical phases are connected to each other, and the connect coils 40 of other phases are insulated from each other.
