PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and a reception method capable of controlling a receiver control function of a linkage application at the broadcasting side.SOLUTION: A broadcast unit 11 has a supply section that supplies a piece of application control information relevant to a linkage application which is executed together with a received content on receivers 20-1 to 20-N to the receivers. Each of the receivers includes: an application execution section that executes the linkage application to change the layout of a screen while referring to images of the received content; and an application control section that controls the application execution section on the basis of the application control information to control the operation of the linkage application. |
