The device has a handle dimensioned to be engaged in a non rectilinear or curvilinear hole. An articulated arm (15A) is provided at vicinity of an end of the handle. An eddy current sensor (23) is encrusted in the arm at vicinity of a curved external lateral face (17) of the arm. An elastic unit is constituted of a spring (24) i.e. helical spring, to solicit the arm towards exterior, so that the arm is in sliding contact with a lower surface of the hole, where the sliding contact is made at vicinity of the face and the sensor. The sensor is covered with a bead resin (25). The hole has a non circular section.
