PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new potent and safe adjuvants and immunogenic compositions for enhancing innate immunity and increasing the potency of vaccines, and to provide the vaccines.SOLUTION: Adjuvants contain at least one lipoprotein, such as Lip, Lip fragments or Lip variants, which may be isolated from various strains of bacteria, including but not limited to, Neisseria meningitidis, wherein the lipoprotein comprises at least one pentameric unit and at least one lipid moiety. The lipoprotein makes up at least 10% of the adjuvant by weight/volume. |
