PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation element array capable of preventing deterioration of optical performance.SOLUTION: The image formation element array includes: an incidence plane and an outgoing plane allowing a beam of light to transmit therethrough and a reflection plane disposed between the incidence plane and the outgoing plane. The image formation element array includes plural imaging elements each having the incidence plane, the outgoing plane and the reflection plane, which are formed integrally with each other to have a convex shape with respect to a base. The image formation element array further includes: a guide groove which is formed on the periphery of neighboring planes having a convex structure for guiding a light shielding material; and a light shielding film formed of light shielding material applied over the guide groove, which is formed on a light transmitting area of the plane having the convex structure and on the periphery of the light reflection area.
