This fuel-cell system is provided with the following: a compressor that supplies a cathode gas to a fuel cell; an intercooler that is provided downstream of the compressor and cools the cathode gas discharged therefrom; a pressure-regulating valve that regulates the pressure downstream of the intercooler; and a controller. Said controller computes a first target intercooler downstream pressure in accordance with a target fuel-cell output and computes a second target intercooler downstream pressure in accordance with the temperature downstream of the intercooler. The controller sets either the first target intercooler downstream pressure or the second target intercooler downstream pressure, whichever is lower, as a target intercooler downstream pressure. The controller controls the compressor and the pressure-regulating valve in accordance with said target intercooler downstream pressure so as to make the pressure downstream of the intercooler equal to the target intercooler downstream pressure. |
