PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-treatment device capable of suppressing excessive consumption of regenerated energy by effectively using an adsorbent, and handling the case of carbon dioxide in air far exceeding a design value.SOLUTION: A pre-treatment device 2, for use in supplying an air separation apparatus 3 separating oxygen and nitrogen from a raw material gas, includes: first and second adsorption towers 4a, 4b for removing at least COfrom the gas by passing through the gas; a COsensor 5 for measuring the density of COcontained in the gas before passing through an adsorption tower; a gas volume meter 6 for measuring the volume of gas passing through an adsorption tower; and a COvolume accumulation part 7 for accumulating a total volume of COpassing through one of the adsorption towers on the basis of the density of COand the volume of gas. Further, the adsorption towers are switched over before the total volume of COreaches a given value.
