PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch input method in a portable terminal especially comprising a touch screen including a transparent display panel, a front surface touch panel sensing a touch input on the front surface of the transparent display panel, and a rear surface touch panel sensing a touch input on the rear surface of the transparent display panel.SOLUTION: A touch input method includes: a step for detecting a touch input from either one of a front surface touch panel or a rear surface touch panel; a step for determining whether or not a user's intention is to input data using the rear surface touch panel in response to the touch input; and a step for displaying a keypad in the upper end of a touch screen when it is determined that the user's intention is to input data using the rear surface touch panel.
