<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose another unit that is longer in a right-and-left direction than an image forming means while suppressing an increase in size, in an image forming apparatus in which a pair of sheet metal frames, supporting the image forming means from both sides of the right-and-left direction in the conveyance direction of a target recording medium, are supported from below by resin frames. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, the image forming means is supported by the pair of sheet metal frames 210R and 210L. The pair of sheet metal frames 210L and 210R are supported from below by the resin frames 250L and 250R, respectively. In the pair of sheet metal frames 210R and 210L, notch parts 216 are respectively formed in a position faced each other (in Fig.2, only a sheet metal frame 210R side is shown).
