An exfoliating footwear device 10 comprises one or more abrasive areas 11, 12, disposed for contact with the underside of a user's foot and one or more non-abrasive areas 21 also disposed for contact with the underside of a user's foot. The abrasive areas 11, 12 help to remove hard or callused tissue from those areas of the foot which typically suffer from calluses, while the non-abrasive areas 21 prevent unnecessary rubbing on the soft tissues of the foot. The footwear device 10 may be an insole for inserting into an item of footwear. The abrasive material may be sand, glass, emery or a combination of carborundum and alumina. |
