PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semi-aromatic liquid crystal polyester with low emission of acetic acid gas and excellent thermal conductivity.SOLUTION: A method for preparing a semi-aromatic liquid crystal polymer comprising a unit (A) having a biphenyl group comprises synthesizing the semi-aromatic liquid crystal polymer through polycondensation using a monomer wherein carboxylic acid is esterified.
