<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel that can enhance sealability by reducing the approach of foreign matter to a sliding contact surface of a lip of a sealing device while suppressing a torque increase. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing device 1 for the wheel includes a wheel mounting flange part 3c formed projecting radially outward at one axial end of an inner shaft 3 to mount the wheel, and a seal member 7 fitted to the wheel mounting flange part 3c side inner peripheral surface end of an outer ring 2 to seal a bearing internal space. The seal member 7 has the lip 72c coming in sliding contact in the circumferential direction of a flange side face 3f. The seal member 7 has a weir 72g facing the flange side face 3f. The weir 72g is formed radially outward from the lip 72c so as to project outward from the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 2 while being in close contact with the wheel mounting flange part 3c side end face of the outer ring 2. The weir 72g has a sliding contact part 72h coming in sliding contact with the flange side face 3f, and a non-sliding contact part 72i not coming in sliding contact with the flange side face 3f. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
