<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-cylinder hydraulic steering system in which a helm pump for a single cylinder hydraulic steering system can be used. <P>SOLUTION: The hydraulic steering system 10 includes two hydraulic actuators 20 and 50 each having actuator ports 24, 25, 54 and 55. A helm device 19 for steering the system in a first direction and a second direction is operably connected to the helm pump 12. The helm device 19 is connected to the actuator ports 24 and 25. There is a power steering pump 40 connected to the actuator ports 54 and 55. There is a position sensor 63 capable of detecting the steering of the system. The position sensor 63 is operably connected with the power steering pump 40 so that the power steering pump pumps a hydraulic fluid toward the third actuator port 54 when the helm device 19 is steered in the first direction, and pumps the hydraulic fluid toward the fourth port 55 when the helm device 19 is steered in the second direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
