PURPOSE: A device and a method for repairing a valve are provided to conveniently repair and manage old valves with the history of leakage and to minimize costs and efforts required to the maintenance of the valves. CONSTITUTION: A device for repairing a valve comprises a jacket part, an extended pipe(20), an extended stem(30), a cover(40), and a new purge valve(44). The jacket part is connected to the exterior of a pipe to block the valve from the outside while surrounding a valve installed on the pipe. The extended pipe is communicated with the jacket part and is extended to the outside. The extended stem is coupled to a stem of the valve through the inside of the extended pipe and is rotatably installed in the front end of the extended pipe in an airtight state. In order to block a purge valve from the outside, the cover contacts to the outside of the pipe while surrounding the purge valve connected in the front and rear sides of the valve along the pipe. The new purge valve is connected the outlet of the purge valve through the cover.
