<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking utensil in which a radio signal reaches a signal receiving part from a signal transmitter with no reflection on a human body, and the signal transmitter does not interfere when operating an operation means such as an ignition/extinction button. <P>SOLUTION: A protruding part 21 is provided at the front side of a built-in cooking stove 1, and an infrared LED 22 is installed downward on the lower surface of the protruding part 21. An infrared signal emitted from the infrared LED 22 according to the ignition/extinction operation of the built-in cooking stove 1 is reflected on a floor surface, and then it is made to reach an infrared receiving sensor 33 provided at a range hood 32 of a ventilator 31. Consequently, when compared with the conventional case that the infrared signal is reflected on a human body, the reflecting direction of the infrared signal is easy to be stabilized, so that the infrared signal surely reaches the infrared receiving sensor 33.
