Serially connected inverters and photovoltaic power generation system

A micro-inverter (402) having input terminals and output terminals is adapted for inverting an input DC power received at the input terminals to an output alternating current (AC) power at the output terminals which have a voltage significantly less than a grid voltage. A bypass current path between the output terminals is operable to pass current produced externally to the micro-inverter. There is also disclosed a photovoltaic power generation system using such a micro-inverter and a method of operating such a system.
